I was just wondering if these would give a cool look in the tail lights. Anyone ever used them?

I've heard they are not bright enough because they only push light straight out whereas the normal bulb lights up in 360 degrees. You would need probably 20 to 30 times as many LED's to get the same effect as say a G35.

Curiously, I would be interested to see a side by side comparison of a car with those bulbs and a normal bulb in the tail light.

The G35 only have 18 LEDs.....

With my very limited knowledge of LEDs, I would assume it isn't just about the # of LEDs or their size, but more about how bright they are (MCD's right?)

something like that. It's how bright each LED is and not necessarily how many. Just like light bulbs, brightness not how many.
