I never had TC on my Maxima...but i would guess that it's much better to have it than not, especially if you have the stock Potenza tires like me. It sucks to drive in the rain, especially in the city. So much power, so little traction.
My Audi had TC and it was a very very good system...but i also had good tires on.

Lets see what the people who actually have TC on their Maximas have to say ... or the ones who don't have TC but have good tires...

i always turn my tcs off. ive had the car since new and before i knew much about it i pulled out in front a truck and lost traction. when you lose traction on systems, it cuts fuel to certain cylinders and there goes your acceleration. even in the rain and snow, i prefer to keep tcs off and if something happens then i can blame myself instead of the traction control.

Spinning tires = no traction. With the TCS on, as tires start to spin, power is cut (for a split second)to give tires chance to grab again and then quickly restored depending on how much your foot is in the accelorator. I just leave mine on and forget about it.

I also always leave mine on except when I get stuck in a snowy parking spot or something. With it on in the snow you won't be able to go anywhere especially with the stock craptenzas......

Benny is right. Some times you do turn it off, if you need to claw your way out of something or up an inclined driveway. I in no way want to insult anyones smarts, but it does nothing for braking and it cant perform miricles. If ya got stock tires with even moderate wear, that is going to be your limiting factor.
