<--a VERY MAD max owner in need of assistance BADLY

long story,, VERY VERY SHORT:
i own a 2001 max, bought it used with 24k miles last april
recently after having a 30k tuneup, ran into alot of problems
check engine light came on once..said it was gas cap, ok
check engine light came on again, same story..this was a week later mind u
2 weeks later..the light came on AGAIN, this time they say its the O2 filter, have it replaced (2nd time i had it replaced)
now 5 days later the light is on AGAIN, 4th! or 5th time i cant even keep count,
i know its not the gas cap to
i also keep hearing a squeaking rubbing sound coming from the front of the car right after its started up when its cold or wet out and it gradually goes away as i drive, but comes back every time,
also i hear a thud type of thumping noise when driving slower speeds and giving it a little gas, they checked this problem out last time i had it in for the O2 filter and said nothign was wrong, brakes and suspension are fine, WHAT IS THE DEAL HERE? i am seriously gonna strangle these people, any one have an idea about the light or noises?
sorry its long, thanks guys in advance

The thud sound could be a broken motor mount.

Hmmm.....engine check light? I wonder why they coudln't isolate the problem, i mean O2 sensor replaced....There is something wrong, that causing the O2 go bad. Something has to do with the engine control unit. Sorry to hear that, I don't know what it could be.

that thud sound comes only when your car starts to move from stop? If that's the case, it's broken motor mount like 03BlkSETE said. My minivan made that noise.
