Need Help, please read

Hey guys, well I have a 2000 nissan maxima. I just got the starter fixed about 2 weeks ago so dunno if that will cause the problem

Well recently, there's no power in the max. Like if i floor it at WOT, all it does is rev really really slowly, the mph stays the same. I floor it and the car does not move. I resetted the ECU last time and well dunno if that fixed it but the car went strong. I just drove it and i mean the car is SLOW. I have no power watsoever. If i just drive normal, i can go fast. But flooring it, i get no where

Any know what might be the problem? some people said it could be the tranny but i have no clue. If it is the tranny, warrenty will cover that correct?

Please anyone that has had this experience or know anything, help

Thanks

NTB03023 IF YOU CONFIRM: An Applied Vehicle has a slight lack of power during acceleration, DETERMINE IF: Premium fuel is being used in the vehicle. ACTIONS: If premium fuel is being used; · Check the ECM Part Number. · Replace Mass Airflow Sensor (if needed). · Perform ECM Reprogramming. This is required if the ECM Part Number (P/N) in the vehicle matches one of those listed under "Current ECM P/N" in Chart A See this bulletin for further detail.

Well I always put in premium fuel, i believe it's the highest sold here which is 91 octane. So i just have to replace my mass airflow sensor? And by ECM reprogramming, that means just reset the ecu? no? please explain, thanks so much

Its a TSB.

Yes, you need a new MAF if your's is listed on the TSB as being bad. Reprogramming is an upgrade to the ECM, not reset. This has to be done by a technician with the Consult II.

Also just to make sure I clear this up. IF i floor it i do not go any faster, if i floor it at 60mph, it will go up to 65mph right away then just stays there. The rpm will also go up to like 4k-5k and just stay then bam shifts hard, i can't make it up to 6k even if i tried

2002 Maxima SE,

This information is totally incorrect. TSB NTB03-023 applies to 2002 and 2003 Nissan Altima 3.5L and Maxima 3.5L (manual and automatic transmissions both) vehicles/engines ONLY! We have a drive by wire car, and the hesitation is just bad programming.

2000MaximaGLE,

I would suggest checking the Mass Air Flow Sensor and Ignition Coils in your vehicle. If it's not either of those, then it could be that you just have a bad tank of gas. I know those are the exact symptoms that WILLSE (another .org member) had when he got some crappy gas.
