Frankencar Intake
Sorry, I know a lot of threads have been made about this topic but I have a specific question.
I think the Frankencar Intake is the best one to go with because it entails the least modification and apparently the best daily improvements.
I was wondering, however, what the difference was between the midpipe setup and the full intake set up. Does the full intake replace the filter altogether whereas the midpipe just supplements it? How easy/difficult is it to install either? Should I take it to a shop.
Finally, how are the sounds? Is it intrusive for daily driving or is it livable, is the "Screeaaam" at WOT cool or annoying?

This is a stupid question, but I couldn't find the answer anywhere. On frankencar's website, it has the option to buy the intake, and a midpipe. What exactly is a midpipe, will I need one, and will I get any performance gains? Thanks

Buying the midpipe alone allows the buyer to choose what filter they want to put on. Might as well buy the full kit if you're planning to put on a K&N or Apexi. The other route is to put "pop charger" type filter on. Kloogy has that setup the JWT combined w/a Frankencar midpipe IIRC.

I will be getting a frankencar intake in soon and when i have it in, i won't be taking it out for checkups. But if the intake acctually does somehow damage something then thats your fault and i'm almost possitive the warranty won't cover it, since it's an aftermarket part, but if there is a problem covered by warranty and they say, well you modified your car, sorry but we can't fix the problem, not true, unless the intake created the problem, the warranty covers it.

and yes, if you take it in for a blown maf AND have an intake on...they'll blame it on the intake!
