Coils and Plugs, a question.

So, I pulled the plugs out of my car and I marked each one so I could tell which cylinder it was from. One of the plugs looks a bit different than the others. The differences are these:

1. The threads looked to have more residue on them, they were darker.

2. The ring around the top of the plug didn't have as much carbon desposited on it. The others were all solid black, that one was about 30% black as far as carbon goes.

My question is this. Could this be the coil that is giving me the intermitent pinging and rough idle without throwing a code? Am I trying to read too much into it? If these things are signifigant I may just replace that one coil and hopefully save myself $250.

It's worth a shot. I replaced all of my coils a few days ago and decided to
removed the plugs to check them and add anti-seize while I was at it. I also
noticed one plug different from the others. That may have been the one with
the bad coil, but I had already decided to bite the bullet and replace all six since
I've heard once one goes, others won't be far behind.
