300 hp Eibach 2000 Maxima from JWT????
Anyone know any more details other than what's shown in the latest Motor Trend article? How much for kit and labor?
The article says a Stock Maxima runs 0-60 in 7.25seconds and the 1/4mile in 15.5sec.@91.3mph. I thought a stock 5-speed does 0-60 in like 6.7 seconds. Anyways the turbo Eibach Max does 0-60 in 5.82sec. and the 1/4mile in 14.3sec.@99.3mph.
The engine bay looks nice, but it doesn't appear to have a FSTB. I wonder if it wouldn't fit over the intake plumbing. More details please.

the drivers there basically are not as good as some people on the board here...a stock max 5spd is supposed to run a best mag time of 15.1 and 6.7 (1/4 and 0-60) however people on this board have run 14.9 stock (which makes me think about 6.5 0-60 stock)...this means that a good stick driver with this car should take it into the very low 5s 0-60 or maybe even the 4s...thats pushing it though...1/4 should be easy to do in the mid-high 13s w/ a good experienced stick driver with that car
moe, they seemed to fix the problem of the turbo not putting out as much power...now it says somewhere around 300hp (which is similar to the s/c) and before it was around 250...they were having a lot of problems with the computer and they were running around a 14.7 1/4 mile before they worked any problems out
I think you are talking about the automatic transmition. Many people in the 4th gen board have stated that if you put a SC on an automatic, expect to be doing some tranny work.

Turbo vs. SC
I'm just thinking this through... A few thoughts. I'm thinking the turbo is a better match for the VQ. Even my automagic spins the wheels off the line with a hard launch. The turbo lag might be a good match with the low end torque of the VQ. You really don't want the power to come on too quickly; You would just get too much wheel spin with our front wheel drive cars.
They need to get Larry to drive their project cars. If he can get 14.38 with a near stock Maxima, why can't they at least match that with a major power-adder? Non-drivers!

i would love to be sponsored by them and prolly beat their times with an auto but with the same mods... but of course they'd best throw in a level 10 torque converter and strengthen my slushbox.

willse, sorry but yes a max can easily do both of those...a shop around here turbo'd a 98 max and it ran mid-high 4 second 0-60 runs and constant 13 sec. 1/4 mile runs...even stillen says the max pace car could do 0-60 in 5.9 and 1/4 mile in 14.3...i think many people on this board can do much better than that since one person here has a y-pipe and cai and can run 14.3 (203hp to the wheels i believe)...if he was behind the wheel of the 270+ wheel hp s/c maxima, he would easily be in mid 13 territory...i don't understand why you people all think z28s are unbeatable cars...a max can easily run high 14s stock (5spd) and can run mid 6's 0-60 stock...add on a supercharger ONLY w/ nothing else and that will give you about a 40% increase in power...that should land you in 13 second 1/4 mile territory depending on how good of a driver you are
