Do the new '01 Maxima's come with engine covers? I had a '98 Maxima SE, and I just traded it in for a '01 Maxima SE. My '98 had a plastic engine cover, but my '01 doesn't have one, although the engine on my '01 Maxima has the holes for mounting the cover. I talked to the sales guy and told me that he was going to check with the service department and then get back to me about that, but I would like to know for sure just in case the dealership tells me that it doesn't come with one.

 

No it does not. Only the AE version have the engine cover. I think you can order it though...

 

I believe the Infinity I30 and AE engines have covers which are polished. Anyone know how hard it would be to install one on a 2001 Max? The chrome/polish look would be nice.

 

i'm pretty sure they are just bolt on, but they are $100 which seems a little pricy for a piece of plastic (or metal if thats what the ae one is)

 

AE is plastic, looks pretty ugly i think, accidentally broke it tryin to mod it, now im thinkin about makin one out of some sheet metal

well, the 01 maxima still has the front spark plug cover just like the 98 maxima. Only the AE and I30 came with the whole engine cover like the 02+ maximas.

Very easy to install both.

Can you snap a pic of the engine bay?
