Anyone with a mid-pipe and HKS rear section here?

I love the HKS, but I noticed some loss in power in the low end after having it installed, so I wanted to know if anyone here has the budget or warpspeed mid-pipe along with the HKS rear section? I'm trying to (hopefully) reclaim back some of that low end power, but I'm not sure if mid-pipes will do enuff to fix that or if its even worth it? Also, for owners who do have this setup, do you have the mid-pipe with a resonator or w/o, and if so, how unbearable is the droning sound?

If I can't compensate with the mid-pipe, would the Injen intake help somewhat in the low-end performance? Currently, I only have a JWT pop-charger and I forgot which intakes (hybrid, cold, etc) were supposedly better in the lower end and higher end from one of the comparison threads here wayy back in the day.

As always, any advice is greatly appreciated!

2.5" mandrel mid pipe, no Y-Pipe, resonated w/ HKS.
No idea how it felt stock. I think you need your throttle body cleaned out, cause when I had it cleaned out, thats when it made a difference.
As for intake, no idea, stock air box gives awesome low end.
I remember when RBa went back to stock, and put his factory air box in.

Are you talking about a B-pipe? A mid-pipe is on the intake and I would say thats causing more of a low end loss than a rear section muffler.

oops, i meant b-pipe, not mid, my bad. I don't know, I thought I read in a thread here that the rear section muffler adds a few HP, but loses alil low end power. I don't have a mid-pipe on the intake. But anyways, would a b-pipe help bring back some low-end? Even if they say its only a 5HP or so gain?

Hmmm.......thing is, the car's only got 11K miles, I would hope the throttle body wouldn't need a cleaning that soon? You are right tho, the stock airbox did feel alot better in the low end. But I like the growl of the pop charger too!

i have stillen headers, hollowed out cat, 2.5" b-pipe w/ resonator and the HKS. when i added my b-pipe on top of the RT cat and HKS i lost 2 hp but gained 2 tq. sounds great. i guess i really dont care about low end power since we have plenty. top end is where my car shines. i didnt add a resonator until i put my headers on. when those things were put on WOW talk about loud. i suggest a resonator if you get a y-pipe.

will

My 2K has over 60K on odo. <~~~this one needed TB cleaning at 48K.

My 2k1 had 45K when I sold it. <~~TB cleaned when blower was in.

My 2k2 had just over 13K when I sold it. <~~Off lease bargain. One HID theft was enough for me to sell it fast.

Will, after hearing Confused's car with his S/C and HKS.

Then hearing a 2k2 w/ all the bolt ons, yeah I understand what 'loud' means.

Sooo bottom line: Is the b-pipe with or w/o resonator worth getting? Since I want to keep the JWT, would I benefit any improvements in power, or am I just getting more sound?

I'll consider the cattman Y-pipe down the road when there are more positive #'s for it posted

B Pipe w/ Resonator is worth getting if you are gonna Y-Pipe it down the line.

Keep the JWT.

W/O resonator = more sound.

The wild card is the Y-Pipe. Makes it extremely loud and raspy.
