2000 SE digital tempature control question

On my 2000 SE I have digitally controlled temperture. Regardless of what tempature i set it for it continually blows hot. For Example if i set it to 68 or 74 it doesnt matter the interior of the car becomes too hot. Unless i set the cab temeture to 65 which of course turns the A/C on any suggestions as to where the interior thermostat is located or any way to repair this? Thanks

yeah i use the manual feature to get the temp i want inside now. if i use the auto feature in the cold months then it gets too hot or cold inside as well. i guess it regulates it by what the temp is outside when you choose the auto feature. therefore, i just use the manual feature when its cold and change the mode if its starts to get to hot or cold.

If you use "Auto", your air conditioner is ALWAYS on. Even set at 85 and blowing boiling air, your A/C compressor is still on. That is why your windows are not fogging up (with auto on, instead of manual.) The A/C removes moisture from the air. That is partly why cold air clears fog off the inside of your window faster than hot air from your heater, the cold air is drier.

Your Max is operating normally for this time of year. If it is cold enough outside, it will not switch over to "cool" mode until you hit 66 or 67 on your dial. This is how mine has worked for years.

If you like fuel economy, don't drive around in auto mode unless you need it, as there really is no need for your compressor to run all the time.
