Not sure what's wrong...

Everything was going too good with my Max...
Not sure what's wrong with it.
This afternoon I was stopped at a light. When I went to go, the SES light came on and I could not go over 2k RPM's. The car would just sputter if I tried to. I was able to make it to the garage I go to.
What could be wrong?

Yeah, those are the classic symptoms of a MAF failure. Make sure you don't spring for the whole housing, just get a new sensor. Will cost you ~$80 instead of ~$300.

The reason I asked for your mileage is because I am at 49,200 and wanted to give myself a heads up on what may be coming my way.......

The saga continues... Last week I replaced the MAF. It was running fine until last night. My SES light came on. Car seems to be running fine though. I'm contemplating putting the stock air box back on because it's so cold. Does it mater? Should I have reset the ECU after putting the new MAF back in? Also, can I pull the ECU codes to see what's wrong?
HELP!
Thanks.

If it's not the MAF then it could be coils. My symptoms were very similar. Does the car seem ok at times then starts to sputter? Does the SES light blink during sputtering? If so then it's your coils that are bad.

I did n't get a chance to really drive it last night. I'll go out now and take it for a test run.

Do you know how to pull the ECU codes for a 2k Max?
Thanks.

Ok... I went to AutoZone & had them pull my codes. Came up something like P0420 error (Something about the Catalytic Convertor)... Any ideas?

well you have a catback so could be a leak at the Catalytic Convertor that is setting it off.

hmm......well did you have gas in it? I know it's a stupid thought but a lot of people don't pay attention to the fuel meter.

Haha... Yeah I did. Seems to be just an error with the ECU. I need to get it reset.
