starting problems with max.

So for the second time in a week, on a cold start, twice I tried to start my 03 max and it didin't start using the electric (viper 790) starter.

I finally went outside and manually started the max and it barley cranked over and when it did, my rpm slowly rose up to normal idle. I don't know if its my battery, (its only one year old) or something more complicated.

anyone having this problem?

Anybody have there battery go caaput in just one year?

thanks

Yes outside in the elements, it was about 17 degrees that morning. just kinda worried here, i know if i bring it in, its not going to act up since it doesn't do it often. I mean it can't be right, my FORD ranger started right up everyday for 6 years until i traded it in for the max ahah.

I do a lot of skiing and snowboarding up north and it would just not be cool if my maxy baby didn't start.

Yes a pro did do my install, (not circuit city either) and yes my ranger did have a remote start, (different kind though) I really doesn't seem to be the remote start but at this point who knows.

Well, Sorry Buddy.
I Really Don't Know What To Tell You. We Both Live In The Same State, But I Choose To Not Get A Remote Start.(that's Just My Opinion) I Guess You Don't Like Sitting In A Cold Car, Huh ? Hehe
To Each His Own, I Apologize I Couldn't Be Of Any Assistance

Your battery only has about 55% of it's cranking power when it's that cold outside. If the car does not start right away, there will be a big drain on the battery. I know this from having my previous Max in Chicago during the coldest winter month of January.

I doubt the remote starter is the issue- 17degrees is a bit stiff-
You may need to change your battery to a higher cold cranking amp battery(aftermarket: optima yellowtop/red top, or a Die Hard Gold/ Quakerstate)

Many people are having cold start probs w/ OEM batteries- I personally havent, but then again the Max sleeps in a garage overnight-
