When it Rains it Pours...talk about bad luck....

So last week when it was snowing my car slide & my back-end fish-tailed & my back driver side rim hit the curb. Yep that MM Evo5 rim was done, a piece cracked on the bottom.

So I throw on my winter rims & tires the next day & stripped a screw w/ the lug on the front passenger side. So I think nothing of it & thought I'll be fine on 4 lugs till I have time to get the screw replaced.
So 2 days later its like 12a its my friend & 3 girls on our way to go bowling. When all of a sudden my car feels like it has a flat. I get out & see nothing, so I get back in car & start driving some more. Now the feeling of a flat now feels like the whole front of car is wobbling. So I pull over again & decide to pop the cover to see the lugs....as soon as I pop cover off 3 lugs fall out. Basically 3 lugs broke off (sheered) w/ screw still attached. There was only 1 screw left. All I kept thinking was what if I kept driving.

Well it doesn't end, that was friday night & I was in Franklin Park, IL & not a very good area. So I call for a tow truck. While we are waiting 3 wannabe gangbangers come up to car while me & cousin are smoking a cig & basically asking what 'gang' we are with. So I laugh & say we are not gangbangers & to keep walking. Now them guys weren't big so thats why I was talking back at them. All of a sudden a sherriff pulls into parking lot & asks whats going on. Then he calls another cop up there. So they have us all place our hands on hood. 3 cops are padding us all down & 1 cop is talking to the girls in my car. It seems the 3 guys are reputable known gangbangers b/c cop knew their nicknames "joker" ; "wanderer" & "flaco" (means skinny in spanish)....also they all had knifes on them. So cops arrested them. I asked cop why we got searched & he tought we were buying drugs from them at first, until cop got same story from girls in car about the tire. So next time I know to keep my mouth shut b/c those guys could of easily pulled a knife to fight, instead of the good ole' mano a mano fights.

I did have car towed to Nissan dealership, picked it up next day & was only charged $110 to replace 4 screws & lugs. Now that night we went to bars & clubs downtown & I parked car on street. I come to car & some f.uck broke off my passenger side mirror. I hope new year brings me some better luck then what i've been have in the last week.

p.s. I'm also thinking of selling my remaining 3 rims & tires, I'm thinking of going back to chrome for summer rims.

Sorry just needed to vent....

edit: Forgot to mention when I picked car up from Nissan on sat. they told me my back brakes are completely shot & I need new front rotors. So, thats more money I need to dish out this week sometime.

That sucks man, you should keep something in your car just in case as well. I've got a knife (legal length) and a 4D Cell Maglight...

At least it wasn't too too expensive to fix...

I have bats in trunk but at a time like that you won't have time to get a bat.....

I know I thought for sure it will be more then $110....the tow service cost more, I paid $160 to have car towed.

Sounds like you maybe forgot to tighten down the 4 lugs that you left after you broke the 5th one.

That sux bro! Don't worry, its not as bad as some of the other ORG member went thru (with accidents and stuff like that)... but it was a bad day for you none the less. Consider yourself lucky those gangbangers didn't rob you...

I just have a couple of questions... were these girls hot? Do you have any pics? Did you get any that night?

I can tell you exactly what would happen if you kept driving... Since I did... I didn't tighten my lug nuts down all the way on my front right wheel after I installed my new suspension... And it started wobbling and I didn't know why, so I drove around with it like that for a couple of days and ended up completely fking up my front right axle, wheel bearings, and abs ring... which costs alot to replace..

wow! that really sucks. My car was in a hit and run bout an month ago, and Maxine is going to the dealer tom. to get two studs replaced. 1 on each rear wheel. I too thought nothing of it I did it back in the beginning of October. Why did you wait so long to take off the rims? Oh well live and learn hopefully you get a late check for the holidays to help get you back on your feet! Good luck

Well, you had some luck since if it wasn't for the cops, who knows what might have gone down in Apache territory. Usually gang bangers are always packing heat and have another 5 or 6 within yelling distance. Hope your New Year begins with a lot of good fortune. Peace.

escrima is Philapino stick fighting I believe... basically 2 short bamboo sticks, probably 1/2" thick, that you train with to beat the living **** out of someone!

Guys....you make it sound like replacing the lugs is tough. Stripped one last week and had to replace it. Each lug+lug nut for the max is about $3 from Autozone/Trak auto. Takes about 10 minutes to replace and minimal automotive skills.

Oh and HNDA ETR, it's "Filipino" ...and those things are wicked!!!!

If I didn't have connections, then yes... But I ended up getting the axle from a junkyard for $162 shipped, and the wheel bearings and new wheel hub I bought new and got those really cheap, spent $200 on labor, friend of mine did it, which included him cutting the wheel nut off because the threads were all jacked up on it and it wasn't coming off... ended up spending a little over $500 dollars... so I was happy. It could've easily been over $1000.

For a second there I thougt you were considering the rims above. Hydraulics are pretty much mandatory if you go with those bad boys!! Ouch.
