Girlfriend Messes Up Car...AGAIN!

Sorry, Everyone, but I have to vent....

Yesterday, I took in the SE-R to the Nissan dealer for some recall work, so I told my girlfriend to take the Maxima to work instead. BIG MISTAKE! She comes home and tells me she scrached the car. First I think it may be another bumper scratch incident like a few others she's gotten into, but when I go to the garage, I see this giant 10" to 12" swipe along the upper part of the front passenger door leading a bit to the rear passenger door. Then I see scrape marks on the door, the door guard, and a bit on the front fender near the wheel well. WOMAN!!!

I cleaned up most everything with a combination of 2000-grit sandpaper, 3M Rubbing Compound, Meguiar's Swirl Remover, and Kit Scratch Out, but that dent is driving me crazy. I took it to a dent pro today, and of course was told that the dent was in one of the worst possible areas for a dent as they can't gurantee a quick-fix dent removal will look good there. The guy didn't want to charge me $200+ for something I might be unhappy with, so he said I would probably have to go to a body shop. $500+ here I come. Sucks!

So let's count down all the damages my girl had caused my two cars:

1) Rear bumper cover scratch on the Maxima which required a new cover and paint job.
2) Bent wheel and destroyed tire on the SE-R.
3) Severe curb rash on the replacement of the bent wheel on the SE-R.
4) Additional curb rash on the same replacement wheel.
5) Front bumper cover scratch on the SE-R which required repainting.
6) Rear bumper cover scratch on the SE-R which required repainting.

She was like: 'what do you want me to do, buy you a new car?' A G35 Coupe would be nice, thank you...was what I was thinking.

I love my girl and all, but thinking about or seeing this dent makes me insane. Aaaaaaauuuugggghhhhh!!!

And so ends my rant. Thanks. Peace.

You either love the heck out of her or you are whipped. When she asked you what you wanted her to do, you should have told her to buy herself a car. I can't see letting any female drive my car that doesn't have my last name. and one dopeslap for good measure.

My mom or sisters never mess up cars either.

With that kind of damage history, you should have expected this when you let her drive your car once again.

There are two things my wife and kids don't touch, period. One, my gear in my HT room, and second, my Max. She has a two seater convertible. When her car goes to the shop, or she has family come over to visit and needs to move them around, I have her get a rental. There are some things sacred, and these two things are that to me.

I'm with you on that one. My wife moved my Max a couple of feet in our laneway the other day. That was the first time that she had ever been behind the wheel.

She has never driven it on the street and doesn't even want to anyways.

My wife is afraid to drive my car She has her lille Sentra, and she's happy with it. She isn't comfortable driving anything bigger then that. While its not a bad thing for my Max, when we do decide to have a kid, I plan on getting her a monster of an SUV, so at some point she better get used to driving bigger vehicles

My 2000 Quest (purchased new):

1) Several driver side door scratches
2) Front fender semi-deep scratch
3) Two small scratches on rear hatch
4) Driver side rear "quarter panel" deep ding
5) Rear bumper scratched to hell

all courtesy of my wife!! On the one or two occassions she's brought my 99 Accord to work, it's also received a few door abrasions.

WTF... HOW does somebody cause all these scratches??

Like the excessive curb rash on the SE-R's new wheel... what'd she do, intentionally drive 1mm next to the curb, or go through every pothole she could find??
The bumper scratches I can imagine (being a dumbass and bumping a wall while backing/parking)... and underneath the bumper, well, mine's all scraped up, but I don't care... but the long-*** door scratches... HOW??

Well one thing if your woman bought you the car or is a breadwinner in the family then you need to shutufukup. If you are paying her bills, then she needs to get a job and buy her own car and insurance. A car can be replaced or fixed, so no point to argue about..but in both cases, your woman needs to go to a driving school.

WOW!!! I was going to start this very same thread. Monday, I take my car out the garage to warm up in the morning. My girlfriend backs her car into mine. Scratches the whole front fender, rim and rips my bumper! "The thoughts that went through my head!!!" So I'm having her insurance pay for it and will get other things done while I'm at it. (Nicks, scratches and detailed)
I feel your pain!!! (ten fold)

IMO, women appear safer only because they're less likely to report minor accidents (or incidents).

The women are "safer" because they are on the road half as much because their cars are always in the body shop.

And because they come equiped with dual airbags.

If my girl ever messed up my car I would do what Ike did to Tina. LOL
But for real I don't let no one drive my car but me, everyone says I act like I brought a Benz or something. Cause I don't take my car to mall parking lots and stuff, I'm like hey I don't want no door dings or no cart thats going through the lot crazy hitting my car.

... Sorry about that man... i feel your pain, but not NEAR the amount you must be feeling. I wanted to go to the city yesterday with my boy, and hit girl. We all wanted to get f'd up, so i asked my girlfriend to drive. She has an elantra, no way were fitting in there comfortable. So we drive to the city im REALLY ****ING gone, she parks the car. We go to the bar, come bak, i go to remote start my car with the 2way responder, and i keep gettin no signal. We walk up the block i tried again, STILL NOTHING. THE STUPID **** prostitute, ***** *** ***** parked the car in a no parking area and i had to pay for a cab and for a 185 ****ing towing fee. RUINED my night.

... Oh by the way that was the first night i had had the car back since my accident december 5th.

I say **** bitc hes get money.

When you think about it, you're can rest in the comfort of knowing that you're just one of the many a-holes.

LOL...

My fiance' curbed one of my rims in less than 2 weeks after they were put on. She has yet to drive it since. Not due to me, but because she is scared it may happen again and she does not want to mess up my "baby"....

I let mine drive my '02 and she told me that we'd be fighting for the keys because she liked the performance. However, she also knows I am quite **** when it comes to my vehicles.
