Brake issues - need your advice

I've had this squeak coming from the front right passenger for the past 12k miles or so but Nissan tech's could never find anything wrong with it.

Now at 40k miles, i noticed that on top of that, slowing down to a stop is not as "smooth" as it once was.

I wouldn't call it vibration, feels more like a subtle jerk as the car starts to slow down.

The service manager told me on the phone that there might be some slight glazing on the rotors and offered to resurface it ($120 w/ new pads!). If this is a case of warped rotors, aren't these things covered by extended warranties?

Tips? Suggestions? I'd like to solve this with the least amount of money - just got laid-off from work the day before New Years

Thanks guys.

unfortunately .. brakes and rotors are not covered by waranty...
your brakes are most likely done... or your rotors are starting to get warrped...
i suggest u getting new brakes and rotors

Automax_95 has connections with brembo and can get u some Brembo rotors (how ever u want them) for like 100 for a pair front or rear.
and brakes just get some raybestos or axxis
all together you'll probably pay 150 at most and you'll have a whoel new brake set

the tsb on the warping rotors is only covered under 3yr./36k. i had my rotors turned once and replaced once. they also replaced the pads the first time they got cut. now that im out of 36k, even though i have a great relationship with my dealer, i doubt they could do anything without it coming out of their pocket. if/when they warp again, im going with brembo blanks and either hawk or bendix IQ pads.

Thanks for the tips guys. Unfortunately i failed to mention that i have a 2k2. Automax_95 doesn't have rotors for the 2k2/3's just yet.

I saw another guy selling Brembo's for 2k2/3's but the rotors alone would cost me well above $200.

Would it be a bad move for me to replace just the pads for now? (e.g. front... either OEM or Bendix which is easily available locally).

going through earlier GD threads, I noticed you ran one on Powerslot rotors...why did you not get your own set?

Many reasons really.

- I didn't think i needed it at that time
- I couldn't afford it then
- I just organized the deal, i didn't sell them directly.
