Aftermarket alarm

Who here has an aftermarket alarm on a 2k2 or 2k3? Any issues with the stock alarm? Thanks!

No problems here.... I have a viper 790xv. Also in my setup the stock alarm is active as well, it’s like having two alarms at the same time. Viper controls the stock one on arm/disarm.

Thanks Tac_M! Appreciate the feedback. In your opinion, is it worth getting an aftermarket alarm. I'm thinking about just adding a shock sensor to the stock alarm instead. Just wondering if it's worth spending $300 or so.

That's a hard question. It's all up to you. It also depends on what are your plans for this car, are you going to keep it or are you going to drive it for 2-3 years and then dump it? Is it a lease?

If you are keeping it here are the most important things:

1. The best radar detector you can afford (my choice is Passport SRX )

2. 2 way alarm like the new Viper systems ( also thy make one that has GPS in it so you can track you car, very cool)

3. GPS ( I’m thinking about a PDA with a GPS card )

If are not keeping it, don't do anything, you'll only loose more money....
