Got in a wreck

So this b*tch is in the farthest left turn lane and i'm in the middle turn lane, green light, i take off turning left then, BAM!!!, hits me right in the side. She wasn't even trying to turn, just ran straight into me. My car has dents and deep scratches on the driver, passenger and the rear end all the way to the metal.

DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All I did was exchange info and called her insurance when I got home. Called the
damn police and they told me to just exchange info if nobody got hurt. Do I need to call my insurance?

Thx

Yes, with a quickness. A police report would be better if you have to take her to court.

Call your agent and give him/her all of the details including what the police said. The longer you wait, the more likely you will forget important details. You would have done well to get a witness or two while you were at the accident scene but it's too late for that now.

When i got into my accident, the police were called and they took statements from both of us. It was the other persons fault in my situation and i believe the police issued her a warning or ticket (i don't know what for). nobody was hurt and my insurance company called me so i could give them my side of the story. i don't know how much help the police can be now since you both left the scene. in other words i dont know (and i doubt you can) if you can still file a police report post-accident. call your insurance company ASAP.

your insurance should be the second people you call (after police) if the accident is someone else's fault...do it ASAP or you could get screwed.

As long as the evidence of the accdient and the statements of the drivers support your version, you'll be fine.

Your insurance is there to represent you, and if they get confirmation that the other carrier is accepting responsiblity for the accident, your insurer will let you either a) handle all via the other carrier, or b) work with your carrier and get your deductible reimbursed to you later.

If you use your own insurance, you can usually get your repair work gauranteed by them, as opposed to just by the body shop. If you go via the other carrier, they will leave you to fight for yourself if the shop does crappy work.

The safest bet is to work with your own insruance company who is on your side, and then get your deductible and rental car charges refunded to you. If the accident is not your fault, this won't effect your record at all with your carrier. They will get their own money back from the other carrier (vai a process called subrogation).

good luck

I know that if the accident didn't past 1k you do not need to a police report and police will discourage to not file one out.at ;east in ny. but if you past the one 1k you must to get a report. you still get a report done, but it less important. if it not your falt hell yea get it to cover you

okay, i called up this B*tch the day it happened and asked her did she file the claim with her insurance company, she said no but she'll do it the following day. so next day i called her again, no answer, 3 or 4 calls later still no answer so i called her insurance whom i'm filed a claim with the day it happened, and they told me she hasn't called them yet nor will she answer her calls when they try to reach her. what can i do to end this crap? i called my insurance and they said i need not claim jack, because it's her fault.

Cover your A$$. Go down to the police station and have them type a report up anyways. Who knows what she'll tell her insurance. Without a police report it's her word against yours.
