Some of the paint on the inside upper edge of the car's body, immediately above the rear tire, has literally fallen off; about a two inches by one section of paint! It's black there now. Anyone know if this would be covered under warranty? I'd hate to try to touch it up myself due the size, but that still might be better than screwing with Nissan's service department.

 

I have a small area near the rear fender on which the same thing has happened. I originally thought someone scraped up against my car, but its an odd chip. Only the high-gloss top coat is missing...the undercoats are still there. What color is your Max???

Anybody else with similar experiences?

 

It should DEFINITELY be covered by warranty. If not, then write to Nissan of North America. If you haven't gone over your mileage limit, then I would definitely push the issue with your dealer.

 

Guys...please view and reply to my thread "paint chips on 5th gen unusually excessive?" I'm trying to get some numbers on this issue and organize a complaint to Nissan on behalf of myself and anyone else that is suffering the same problem...by the description of your findings, they are very much related, i.e., inferior paint quality.

My car is icelandic pearl. Sounds like we have a similar problem. This really sucks! Would paint falling off be covered under the 3yr bumper to bumper?
