A little confused about coilover "kits"

With coilover kits like dropzone and ground control ($200-300), is it recommended to pair those up w/ performance struts? If these are a good way to drop a max, without sacrificing suspension travel, why arent more people jumping on these. Especially if they can be paired w/ a lesser quality (oem) strut. If these kits are supposed to be paired w/ better struts, then i can see why more people would rather save for some JIC/Cattman/Tein.

Any input would help me understand these kits and assist me in future purchases.

With any lowering springs, aftermarket struts are strongly recommended. Ground Controls are stiff. Even w/ GC coilovers and nice struts, still not as much $$$ as JIC or Tein.
