my rotors... dont think its good... :(

Well, this was just getting home hitting no water... Something just doesn't seem right and I can't wipe them off.. Anyone know what I can do to get that **** off for good? I installed new pads on the front, but its doing that on the front and rears, so I don't guess the pads are the cause.. I'm gong to put on the stainless lines Sunday and maybe someone can lemme know what I can do.. thanks fellas

rotors oxidize...they are made of steel. this happens to pretty much all rotors. Moisture in the air can cause it. Nothing you can do about it, but it will not affect your braking performance.

well irish, the only reason i ask is that almost no rotors you see are like that unless they are just washed or have been sitting like that... your prob right but they shouldnt always be like that should they?

Like irish said, they are iron its gonna happen. You can get SS rotors, no more problem. I sell CI/MI pipe fittings, without oil on the iron, they rust and quick. Chris

You should have had them powder coated or cadmium coated, they'll rust less. Mine just have rust where the pad doesn't touch the inner 1/4 inch of the rotor. But the ends and hub , no rust. I did the powder coat because it's good up to 4-500 degrees.

Where did you get those rotors? Are they not zinc coated?

Are those brembos? mine rusted fast too. normal unless you do some sort of coating.

I bet they warp and crack fast too with the cross drilling.

I used Powerslot and they are zinc washed, they haven't rusted in over a year, not even in the slots. I didn't get them cross drilled to avoid the cracking and warping I had heard about.

All rotors do that. Mine do it if I just don't drive the car for a day...rain or shine.
