Can TCS be added?

I know this was asked before but I cant remember the answer. Can I add TCS to my non-TCS 2k2 GLE? This is the first winter ive had the car, and im thinking of trading it for a better traction winter car.

It's the tires (assuming you still have the crapenzas). Spend the money in a good set of tires, winter or at least a good set of all season tires.

Well I quess Ill scratch the TCS idea. The roads in michigan suck to begin with, add snow and its a nightmere. TCS should be standard!!!

First winter with my 03 automatic...can't believe how bad it sucks in the snow without TCS. The littlest hill can leave me slipping and sliding or worse stuck trying to get up it. I'm too far in hole to consider trading it yet though.

Hey Desperado, I was in that boat too!! I was not able to custom-order my Max so my car does not have many of the things that I would like (TCS being up there). I had had traction control on my previous car, and loved it, and when it was snowing on my 34 mile way to work, it came in quite handy more than once. This is my first winter with the car, and the first time we got even a little bit of snow, those Potenzas scared the crap out of me. ABS was kicking on all the time, sliding around corners no matter your speed, turtle-like acceleration....on and on. I decided I was not gonna push my luck and immediately started looking for winter tires. I got some Firestone Winterforce SL's in a 215/60SR-16 from tirerack.com, and put 'em on some steel wheels. $52 a piece! I figured even being the cheapest winter tires I found, they would be much better than what I had, and believe me, it's like night and day. Got to play around in the snow a bit with it later and during "panic" stops th ABS wasn't even having to come on like it had been previously. Acceleration and overall handling was significantly improved and more confident. I figured I'd rather pay under $240 for a little peace of mind and assurance, than $500 for my deductible, and I wouldnt of been surprised to have an accident with those previous tires! Get some aftermarket tires, and the traction control won't be so missed!
