the ones at radio shack are kinda crappy compared to the one i got from best buy. The pricing difference is noticeable but so is the quality. If you have a friend who works at best buy you can get them for about $5

30585 - not sure if its the same on the 2000 as the 2002, but you can tap into a +12 volt source (solid yellow wire) which turns on with the ignition on the back of the head unit...as mentioned, not sure if the wiring diagram is same for 2000 as 2002...may want to confirm prior to doing this.

Go to the AUDIO FORUM FAQ
Read through STUDMAN'S second post... all the info you need is there. A simple line-out converter will not do. You need the PAC-OEM NISS kit. I installed it in my 2k2 w/Bose and it works great.
I also have a post or two in the Audio Forum explaining it a bit...

You have to add the PAC adaptor. It's not a hi-low converter but it converts the balanced Bose signal to an RCA signal. I built my system with it, works great. I have two more brand new PAC adaptors and one used one if anyone wants.
Here's a link to my old system. Shows that with a little know how you can build a decent system with the stock Bose head deck.
