Devil in Transmission has been exorcised

Okay for the past 8 months every dealer I have gone to, including Nissan NA direct couldn't figure out my tranny problem. The trans would slip from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd and they couldn't figure it out, drivng me nuts in the process. I bring my max in for the sensor recall because my vin fell within and whamo, problem is gone, not even a trace of it. What the hell, on top of it, I have power that I never knew was there and no it didn't dissapear after 3 days. This car is quick now and just flies on the highway. This is great, finally, I have my maxi back. Chris

Good stuff Chris ! Nice to hear they finally took care of the problem.

I hope I can get the same treatment when I go in this Friday. Maybe you can tell me if your trans problem sounds like mine...My 1-2 shift is very hard, enough to make the car shudder or shimmy when it goes into 2nd, and that's regardless of if I'm going at 25% or 75%...At WOT, I don't mind, I want a clean, hard shift, but at leisure driving, it gets annoying just banging into 2nd gear. Its not slipping, to say I don't catch rubber in 2nd because the RPM's are higher than where they should be, but I'm still gonna have the dealer look at the problem under the powertrain warranty. Wish me luck.

Wow, that's very odd.....sound like a engine problem since you said sensor problem was recalled. Probably the engine was too much for the tranny which didn't know when to shift. Well glad that your car is running as it should.

Ok, so I'm not the only one who felt a difference in the shifting.

Hey 02VQ35, you don't happen the know what the TSB is on that sensor recall do you? Last night my auto trans was doing something similar. Ther was a hesitation to shift and a loss in power. I also noticed that I could feel a little roughness through the accelerator. Happened out of nowhere. Stopped at a redlight, and when I took off it was there. Now, I let it sit for about 15 min. and 98% of it went away and it didn't occur today. ???? I'm still within warranty and might take it to the local dealer if I know exactly what to tell them. How did you go about getting them to repair yours?
