Got them, Like them, will buy more. They give a very yellow light for any bulb, plus they don't look ugly in your fogs.

It REALLY does demonstrate the pattern of light the fogs throw off which is quite short and down. Go with a max of 80w bulbs, just for temp reasons, anything more and you are going to be giving squirrels a sunburn right before they go splat under your tire.

Lots of stores that cater to VW and BMW have yellowstars in stock.

yellowstars

The old Yellowstars that were made in Germany (no longer available in the US) were a nice yellow color. The new ones made in Korea? are barely off-white. Don't waste your money if you want a yellow glow bulb.

Dang. I ordered mine a few years ago, and they are the German ones. I got two sets...hee hee.... thinking ahead, did not realize how effective that would be.

If the German ones still exist, the internet might be a wonderful tool... try and buy them from a German site... sort of a grey import.

sorry to get the hopes up

That is correct. Hella now uses suppliers, which means a set could be made in Mexico, Korea or even India.

Not to ask an insanely dumb question, but are they completely and totally produced outside of Germany or is there still a German factory producing some?

I figure not as the lovely Socialist economy in Germany and the cost of German labor would make something small, like bulbs, unprofitable.

Oh well.

Yes, it is possible but unless you have the bulb in your hands and read where it was made, no, you can't guarantee where it's going to come from.
