Rather than use credit, put money away each month (in a drawer, in an envelope, leave it in the bank and ignore it) and if you never gather enough money for your mod you're not financially ready or mature enough to buy it.
BTW, I have a mortgage and normal utilities, no other bills, so I practice what I preach.
And lastly if you're "getting back" more than about $300 then you wasted money. I want to slap people who think of a tax "refund" as "found money." How about calling it what it is... a tax free loan to the govt.

(245-40-18 ) & 18 x 9 rear( 265-40-18 ) and repaint my baby. Honestly I doubt I can buy all this with the tax return, probably only half of this.

I'm also 34 and agree with 2K2wannabe about saving your money, however I am still going to the Nudie Bar until I do this.. . I have my taxes figured out so that I only get between $100-$200 dollars back. Gotta have fun every now and again .

and I'd rather "get back" $200 than have to pay $100, but I have a friend who regularly "gets back" $3-$4,000 ... I told him once "at $4,000 'refund' if you spent $50 on tax planning software you could have about $350 extra per month in your pocket."
His answer, and I've never mentioned it again... "if I did that I'd just spend it, so we use it as our vacation fund." ....................
