how to replace wheel bearings

i just got my shipment of front wheel bearings from daveb. i'm trying to decide if this is a doable project with a borrowed bearing-press from an autoshop. just looking at the parts diagram that dave faxed me, it actually looks straighforward, but obviously, the wheel/axle/brake assembly is not something i want to screw up. i'd be taking this on with a pretty knowledgable friend of mine. but i'd like a description of what's involved with this, even a brief description of the steps would be fine.
has anyone here done this at home?? help me out.

It's for 4th gen but it shouldn't be too different for 5th gen.
