i'm really curious as to the diff between using Illuminas and GR-2s and/or HP blues.

i've heard the illuminas are more catered to the lowered and praised, but if i got the blues or gr-2s w/ progress springs, would i be 'stupid' in essence? should i just spend the extra $100+ to get the illuminas?

The difference is, the Illumina's are adjustable whereas the GR2's aren't.

Eibachs JUNK, I do not recommend, Front coil snaped!! Then fell off the strut's spring pedistal and went through the tire! On the highway. My wife was driving so no Dukes of Hazzard power jumps. And to get warranty work from Eibach what a nightmare! Million miles my AZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!

15 ? im guessing is past newbie title ? nah ) I just got $20k from a passing, and I'm truley trying to hook my 01 maxima up but and pretty new to all of this. I just bought the H&R springs for $245. with shipping, they are in route, I got a factory wing, Clear taillights and sidemarkers. Prob. going with the 18" G35 rims. From reading alot on here it looks like adding aftermarket struts will add a better ride as well as last much longer than my factory ones.

KSport Control Pro ... 36 way adjustable, seperate spring rate and height adjustment. Had em' on for like a week now. Slammed it at first a little too low so brough them up to 62 cm all around (about 3/4 inch gap). So far they're pretty damn good!

I just installed progress technology with kyb gr2's. Ride is stiff and i have not noticed too much drop maybe cause they are new and take time to sit low?

Newbe here running stock for now. I see many of you like the lowered look, I do too, it's just not practical for me. Since I haven't reached my 15th post to actually be able to ask in a seperate posting, (hopefully there is no problem asking here since it is related)....... Has anybody lifted the rear of their Maxi's? Maybe enough to bring it up level with the front, or maybe 1/2" higher? A spacer or longer coil perhaps? I have an issue with the damn exhaust tips dragging my driveway entrance.

I'm on Megans/kyb GR-2. There nice kinds would be an alternative to S-techs. Have a very similar drop rate. Ride quality is good but I can't compare to others.

Wrong forum. Needs to be posted in classifieds.

How do coilovers help with sailing anyway?

i dont trick out my car so i dont want info on lowering, just a regular replacement of some worn out shocks and struts. got an 01 max 130k pretty sure the suspension is stock and wanted to know what to put on to get the best ride. i guess probably closest to original without spending enough for a new car

I need help. I'm too new to post a new thread.

I paid for a kit through AJUSA. It was KYB Hsocks and Sturts with Vogtland Spings. It was gonna be $469 for the kit. They sent me an email and said they couldn't get the setup anymore and refunded my money. I went to a local shop and they said the KYB GR-2 is a stock height shcok and strut set and if I put lowering springs on the kit I would kill the shocks and stuts within a year becuase the KYB kit isn't made for lowering.

I found a coilover kit on the ERZ Performance website called NES SS Coilovers. Has anyone heard of NEX? Here's the link http://www.erzperformance.com/product_p/ss1-ns06.htm

Please let me know if these are any good and if I should buy them.

CM lowering springs all round. Tokico blues in the front and illuminas in the rear.

CM springs did not have an even drop. Its a very aggressive drop but lowers the rear more than the front. Very good ride comfort and handling though.

im looking at progress or s-techs? Im looking to go as low as I can without going to coilovers but not having a neck snapping ride either.... I had progress and illuminas on my 4th gen and it was awesome, but the front didnt seem low enough and I heard bad thing about the s-techs on 4th gens, so I just stuck it out....any feedback on s--techs for 5th gen. would be cool. Ill be getting illuminas for sure though....

Bumped an old thread, so I wont have to make a new one....

How would you describe the ride? I love the look of the s-techs over progress, especially since the progress looks like they have a slightly lower drop in the back. I know progress springs feel damn near perfect though....

i have s-techs with gr-2 and i can tell you the ride is absolutely horrible! sure does look damn good but there is no comfort with the combo i have.. my guess is that s-techs would go good with illuminas since theyre adjustable..

I have Illuminas/S-Tech in front and No suspension travel and the spring rate is too soft for the drop, even with the bump stops cut.

Nope. Spring rate too soft, like I said, so therefore it bottoms out any & every chance it gets, horrible sound/feeling.

Even then, the A32/33 chassis just doesn't have the suspension travel it needs to support a ride height that low w/o CO's.

I'm pretty light @ 160, and it's semi fine with me, but even my mutt (60lbs) causes it to bottom out on anything except for the smallest grains of pebble when he's rollin in the passenger side.

Yeah. Spring rates for Tein springs are way soft (S & H-techs).
My H-tech/Illumina combo was the same way: Harsh as hell.

That's why I went the C/O route.

K-sport coilovers here. No body roll. Bit stiff but definitely worth the upgrade and price.
