Finally I got my HID's stolen. I was wondering when that was going to happen. I dont feel like dealing with the headlight problem anymore. Im thinking of going Gen 6. I know thats blasphemous to some but this s.h.i.t is ridiculous. What do you guys think?

 

If your going to spend close to $30k for a 6th gen I'd personally move onto something like a used BMW 5 series or a 3 series if you don't mind a little less room....I just think either keep the max or get something more luxurious, granted the 6th gen has a lot of options and what not I just think for that much $ you can do better

It was the DDE. All the wires were ripped out excepts for the DDE's. I think Im gonna get a tahoe. My lady is going to move up here this summer with her kids plus my kids. I need something bigger anyway.

I was supposed to get my data dots. The dealer said probably in march or something. Im gonna write nissan and complain about waiting about 3 months to get my damn data dots. I called friday and the dealership said Im on the next page and It should eb done in March. Hopefully I can get my deductible back. Im not holding my breath for it though.

 

Wow, sorry to hear. I'd get the AE lights and be done with it. Sure, the insurance company will only put in the HIDs - and let em. Then you can trade them on the org for some 2k-2k1 lights and get some extra cash to boot. If you're really ready to move on, I'd pass on the 6th gen Max. For that kind of money? I recently drove the new TL. Now that is a buy.

Dude, i'm really sorry to hear about your headlights.. its a shame. You know one of the reason I didn't buy a Honda is because of their highest theft rate and break in rate. I bought a maxima thinking theives won't spot this car since its an expensive car. But now it seems like maximas are worst then civics or accords in CROOK's list. THIS IS RIDICULOUS.. anyway.. if you are serious about selling your car. You got any MODS that you gonna sell first? i'll be interested.

 

i dont get why a lot of people who are fed up with this want to change cars especially to accords or a car that doesnt even have HIDs! why not just get AE or regular 2k/2k1 headlights and save yourself the resale loss and this way you can sleep nicer too

there's absolutely NO reason for you to give up your car just because you got your headlights stolen!
just switch to 2k/2k1 headlights and save yourself the resale loss and stress(don't have to think about getting headlights stolen anymore)

and besides,, when you're driving, do you REALLY care how your headlights look? as long you have your HID's you'll have clear vision of the road.

 

I just swapped out my lights for 2k2's and would be more than happy to sell you my 2k lights w/xenon kit & high beam deflector.

I just took a 2k4 TL on a prolonged test drive this past Saturday. AWESOME car overall; although I felt the power delivery wasnt as good as the VQ35DE Maxima's. That said, I'd trade my 2k2 Max for it in a second IF I could get a fair deal on it. I'm not as will to do so for a 2k4 Maxima.

 

I switched to AE headlights after having my headlights stolen twice and I haven't looked back once, the thought of not having to worry about leaving somewhere and findind the car with no eyes is too good.

i totally agree.
someone should have a 2 guns (one for each headlight) pointing forward and make it trigger when the headlights are taken off without some type of key or authorization by the owner. it's just a silly idea but god damn.. freakin criminals! die!

 

i still think that you jersey/ny guys should get together and use one of your cars as bait.....as soon as you see someone attempt to steal the hid's, jump out and beat the hell outta him on behalf of everyone with 02-03 headlights
