I mean I know that everyone on this message board owns a Maxima and that most everyone here is a big Nissan and Maxima fanatic and that everyone here went through the car buying process and obviously prefers Maxima's over all other cars in its size class and price range, but I was wondering what you would choose...a Maxima or a Sonata?

Oops... Did I actually post that one?

Hey Michael, I wont be sarcastic but I was about to ask if this is a question. Let's face it. Here in Canada a Sonata would sell fully loaded... for around 33K CDN + taxes for 2-3K more you have a real fully loaded Maxima 2001 Se 20 th.

The new Sonata look ok, for the average car driver ( not for me though) For a so small difference there is no choice go for the Max. You wont regret and the Sonata is not in the same category, look at the specs.

Good luck.

Cheers

Oops

I think somebody took me seriously.

That's okay...if I had been serious, it would have been good feedback.

Hey Michael, you just got me on that one, he he he ( and I'm still laughin when writing you this mail ) at first I though either this guy is an idiot or he's some kind of lunatic that just found this forums by whatever way. I think I'm a creative person and I like to help other, even though your question could have make sense, if you are looking at some financial aspects, there is some people who 2-3K difference is a big thing, not saying about insurance, maintenance cost etc etc.

Any way, you got me solid on this one and If this is giving you guys a goodtime, well I am damn happy.

Diner's ready. Cheers to all of u. Still laughin.

hehehe...better watch out. Some Sonata owner may come in here and start up a flame war. I wonder if they have something like these forums for Hyundai owners

Didn't really mean to "get" anybody on this. Just always think its funny when people come to the MAXIMA.ORG web site to find out our opinion on which car they should buy. When somebody goes to MAXIMA.ORG and asks what kind of cars we all like, I think they probably shouldn't be allowed to drive.

I think that we have more to worry about after that one comment in another thread when somebody referred to the Acura TL as a "boat."

I did see a Sonata, the other day, on the road with all emblems taken off and windows tinted limo tint. I'm sure that car's owner is on some sort of site called "http://iamembarassedaboutmycarsoiscrapedallthelogosoffand tintedthewindowssonobodycanseemeinit.org"

Oops...I guess I did it again.

hehe...anything with a 200 shot of nitrous and we'll see who is laughing....Although, that 10 year warranty would come in handy if you decide to put a 200 shot of NOS on a hyundai

Hyundai Sonata

Hyundai's have really improved and I will take a loaded, slightly modded Sonata over a base 4 cylinder Camry CE. They are a great deal and cost somewhere in between the Altima and Sentra. However, I feel the Kia Optima (a nicer twin of the Sonata) is even better for the money.

We cant' compare the two,

The Maxima and the Sonata each occupy a different segment.

The Sonata is not marketed as a sports sedan, and probably never will. They don't show sonatas on TV sliding around on a desert making a big rooster tail. We have to remember that the Maxima is a 4door Sports Car, Sonata is not. And let's not forget that many of us are having problems with Maximas too.

We need to compare it to Camrys and Accords, 4 cylinder.
When compared to cars in its targeted segment, I think Sonata is a good car, but I must admit that it looks UGLY!!!!!

The new Kia Optima is basically a Sonata, but it looks way better than the Sonata.

Hyundai needs to do someting about its styling. I dont' like the new Elantra because it is ugly.

In compact cars, Neon looks the best.

Bottom line, let's not compare the Maxima with a Sonata, because they are in a whole different class.

how about the xg300?....

i konw that this thread is just for bagging the sonata, but what do you guys think about the hyundai xg300? it seems to have some nice features, like the shifttronic tranny that the max doesn't have, but should. also looks good to me, for a hyundai.

Not about bagging the Sonata. It was really to bag all those folks who come on this board to find out what kind of cars we all prefer. Like, "What would you buy a Maxima or an Accord?" I just think its funny that they can't figure out the answer in advance. Uh...hmmm....a Maxima brainiac...that's why we're on the board. :
