straight pipe or high flow cat?
straight pipe or high flow cat?
hey guys, i was woundering what the better choice would be, a straight pipe or a high-flow cat? I know the straight pipe is horrible for emmisions but ill just keep my stock cat and pop it on when needed. also I have a CAI, and a Y-pipe., so which one would work best with those two mods? Thanks for your help!
Personally I would just get a high flow cat (Since I care about the environment)
, otherwise just go for straight pipe if you don't care and just want more HP and cheaper.
BTW, if you do decide to go with high flow cat, search for alternative then "Random Tech high flow cat" I havn't been hearing good things about them on .org

Y and b pipe will give you the most.
The high flo cat and other mufflers dont do much.

It is worth it to get the rear section (after B-pipe, aka muffler section) from Cattman as well? any better then the stock Calsonic muffler? Looks to be pretty much the same from the outside

The whole catback from the Cat is a beauty and a better tone. But from what I have seen, hardly any extra power. I will sacrifice quiet only if I am getting something for it. But that is just me. Some guys do it for the sound.
Not up to speed on the Calsonic. But Cattman is specifically a maxima guy.
I have the custommaxima.com straight pipe, no noticable gains, very little noise increase (I got the one with the resonator). Might be a little more burbly... sounds good anyways. If you're lookin for hp, get a cat-back, or just the b-pipe if you wanna keep noise down. OBX sells a pretty good cat-back from what i've heard, and is quite reasonably priced
