i have this shake in my car and i dont think its out of alingment or a warped wheel... the steering wheel doesnt shake...

but at certain rpms i feel a vibration... so somethings up

can someone tell me how to tell for sure if one is broken?

example... my radar dectector bounces up and down when the bass is on... and during this is moves side to side during this vibration/shake...

i would say open up the hood and see if the engine shakes at idle

I know many a time I've wheel hopped BAD and was sure that I broke a mount-but my engine is a smooth as silk.

If its shaky at idle, IMO then your mounts or one single mount might be broken

 

SOmetimes, not all the times, when I stop at a light my car has a slight vibration that I can feel mainly in the steering wheel.

Could that be a motor mount?

 

if the steering shimmies when ur stoppin its ur warped rotors

 

I don't think I explained my problem well enough. It vibrates while I'm completely stopped.
