No you dont 90% of them just drooooone. Once you replace the OEM pre-cat assemble (y-pipe or headers) it really kicks up the drone. I have the y-pipe with resonator & a stock muffler. I had the magnaflow on & it sounded sweet but too much drone so I yanked the damn thing off.

ill see if I can pull one up real quick.

Not restictive at all, if you switch from a straight through exhaust to the OEM muffler, all your going to lose is like 1hp which isnt even noticable. I like the OEM one better to tell you the truth, I just welded two magnaflow 3" tips onto it & it looks fine. About 90% quieter then my magnaflow was, all you hear now is the intake so I cant really complain. It should be able to hold upward to 300ish whp w/o being too restictive. You can always opt for a dynomax for a cheap replacment if you feel the need to change it w/o getting any drone.

So are you running a resonator still on exhaust before the muffler or did you just do all pipe to the stock muffler?

Thats how i would like it too. I love how just the sound of the aftermarket intake is. With just a hint of exhaust note. I bet it would sound nice.

Im still running a resonator, (18"x4") actually its the cattman b-pipe. I would have gotten the cattman muffler as well, but I just cant justify paying $300+ for a muffler
Ive tried a few setups and I say definetly stick with the resonator, there is no power to be made by removing it so whats the point. Ive tried running the stock muffler w/o the resonator and it sounds like crap. The exhaust note has a metallic sounding grinding noise under WOT. I never tried the magnaflow w/o a resonator, but it was loud enough inside. I didnt care to see how it would sound w/o one.
As of right now I have the stillen y-pipe, OEM cat, cattman b-pipe w/res, and OEM muffler. The b-pipe doesnt reach all the way to the muffler so the last 2.5-3ft I just had a cutsom 2.5" pipe made. Im sick if doing exhaust work.
The exhaust note is slightly louder then stock, but you cant really hear it inside the car, only outside. All I can hear is the intake scream, I like the setup as is. Its nothing fancy, but it works.
