My wife and I are proud new owners of our third Maxima now. Previously, we owned a pre-owned 91 and a new 95SE. After sealing the deal on a Bonneville SLE 2 nights ago, a GMAC screw-up caused us to postpone the deal. In turn, I just went to our nearest Nissan dealership and managed to come out of there with a 2001 SE(auto). I purchased it for $22k and some change plus TTL. I was surprised they sold it below invoice, but being that it was the third car purchased there, WHY NOT?! The catch is, however, it is a base model SE, equipped with only floor mats, mudflaps, and microfilter. The only thing I want to purchase xtra for it is an aftermarket sunroof, tint and side skirts.

Are the side skirts available yet and what is the cost?

Thanks in advance.

not sure of the cost but you can get side skirts. 2 choices right now. Get them from stillen or get them from the Se Anniversary edition maxima. I know if you get the ones from nissan you need differnt front mud guards......should you choose to get them. The mud guards on the se-a fit kinda over the side skirts.

CONGRATS on the purchase

Auto or 5sp? Color?

Don't feel bad cuz its a base se......you still get a ton with that car. Are you loving the ride?

I already edited my original post to tell what tranny it is, but it is a Silver auto. If it were all mine and not shared with the wife, I would have got a manual!

Yes, I'm loving the ride. Looks like they get better and better over the years.

aftermarket sunroof

congratulations on a great car, as for the aftermarket sunroof, i think its a bad idea to have someone put a hole where there is no hole, plus my friend did that and he lets lil leaks near the rubber where the sunroof closes. jus my opinion.
