Depends on if you're going with crush-bends or mandrel-bends. Figure about $150.00 for crush-bends and $250.00 to $275.00 for mandrel bends. That INCLUDES the cost of the muffler.

Why pay the price for a name brand exhaust when any reputable muffler shop can make one for you at a fraction of the cost? I had mine custom-made for $275.00. That price included the cost of a Magnaflow 24" muffler. Without the muffler it would have run me about $200.00. A name brand system would have been at least twice as expensive.

Re: Re: Where can I get a mandrel bent exhaust?

Is it reliable? I've been wanting to get my exhaust customized but wasn't sure. I don't want to mess up my car. Those weld on pipes actually degrade performance. All that welding will disrupt exhaust flow. One of my friends with a 98 GXE paid $300 for some no name aftermarket and removed it after a week. Sounded like a Harley!!! This is why I'm looking forward to a bolt-on. Is your exhaust bolt or weld on? How does it sound?

Why have backpressure at all? It's really unnecessary. My guess is, Nissan developed the variable backpressure muffler primarily to reduce exhaust noise at low rpm. But if you want to keep the stock muffler, by all means, keep it.
