Strange whirring sound

Strange whirring sound
My wifes 2000 stock Maxima SE. I went to run an errand and when I got back and parked it in the garage, there was a strange whirring/buzz sound coming from the engine bay after I turned off the key.
It sounds like it is coming from the lower front of the engine but I cannot tell what it is. If I disconnect the battery then it slowly dies and stops, but starts back up if I reconnect it.
I tried pulling the fuses one by one but it still happened (even with I pulled the main fuse).
Any one have an idea of what this could be? The only thing of notice that happened on my errand is I had to hit the brakes pretty hard once because someone pulled out in front of me.

Took it to the dealer this morn. The whirring sound is an electric motor mount. Turns out there is a short in the ECU and they are going to have to replace it.
Fortunately this will be covered by warranty.

TSB NTB01-010 issued Feb 15, 2001......... BUZZ NOISE AFTER ENGINE IS TURNED OFF
I have the same noise.....it is caused by the electronically controlled engine mounts. They have to replace the motor mounts and possibly the ECM. I will have mine done in a few weeks.

do you think they'll do it for you after all you did to your car? because i have the same noise and if it means things need to get replaced then i dont want my dealer giving me problems about it. all i have is an intake and a straight pipe performance wise and i dont want to deal with denial of service from the dealership....hopefully you'll be able to get it done. lemme know how it goes.
