I have a vibration in my steering wheel when I come to a stop.

Most of the time it does it when I come to a stop at a light or stop sign. It even does it in neutral. Could this be a sign that a motor mount has gone bad?

Thanks

Edit. I'm the first one to post a thread since maxorg has been down!

does it only happen when you're braking? Or idling as well?
If it happens only when you're braking, sounds like your rotors are giving up

join the club man...i know several with this problem. mostly 2k owners - who can't seem to track down the cause. myself and several others have just learned to deal with it. mine does it at high speeds or when mid-hard braking.

if during braking, could be rotors. or could be tie-rod ends, wheel bearings, out of balance wheel, bad tire, etc, etc. all of those on mine check out ok...still vibrating though.

perhaps some others will have some suggestions. let me know if you ever track down the cause.

If it only happens when you are braking you might want to turn or replace your rotors

I believe there is a TSB for brake judder. Common problem from what I've heard.

the "brake judder TSB" Tony refered to is ONLY for 2000 models. You have a 2003, correct?

yes...as mentioned before that could be the same problem. just be aware that there is no brake judder/rotor TSB on 2k3s. or, might be something else. take it in to the stealership and see what they say.

i had my 2k checked out with this TSB...still no fix. i've given up!

couldnt it be that he would need to switch his spark plugs? i mean if its shaking when in idle.....i know a friend who had that happen and when he switch his plugs the shaking went away. *shrugs* just a suggestion.

if the steering still shakes when the car is fully stopped, not moving then its ignition coils problem.

It doesn't really shake but it kind of vibrates in my hand for a second and then stops most of the time.

It's not warped rotors because this happens while I am at a complete stop. Switching it to Neutral doesn't seem to make it stop either.

So I guess I'll take it to the dealer and see if it's the coils or plugs.

Thanks guys
