Cattman Catback Review

I finally got my Cattman cattback installed this past weekend. I tried to do it myself but I couldn't unbolt the cat to save my life. Started rounding the bolts and decided to give in and let someone else do. Cost was $90 at Midas.

Anyway, this thing pulls hard as crap. The mid and upper rpm range is where I notice the biggest difference but I feel no torque loss down low. And the sound is great. I took off the Injen and went to OSCAI so there's no rumble from the intake side. But at WOT or when I down shift, the exhaust sounds similar to a Z (IMO). There is only a hint of drone at certain rpms but nothing offensive.

Of course, it feels faster every time I start her up but some of this may be in my head. I will likely dyno again in the Spring but by then I hope to have the Cattman Y installed also. Can't wait for dyno and track results!

$90 damm!! They raped you on the price. Out here muffler shops $30 for installations.

Its probably your head. A catback on a max is not going to give you so much more HP that you can feel it pull "hard as crap" as you stated. Probably the noise thats making you think that.

Not on an NA car it wont. Many people here have proof of that with dyno charts. Just take a browse through the dyno forum.

BigDog - Maybe in my head, maybe not. Pulls "hard as crap" is a subjective statement. Never mentioned any est'd #s. It's hard to compare results in the dyno forum because each car may be different but here goes nothing:

- 6spd (MaximaDave) 204.4hp 219.3tq STD bone stock

- 6spd (Maxedout) 204hp 220tq (SAE or STD ??) frankencar intake

- 6spd (MannyNJ) 220.2hp 231.7tq STD frankencar intake & budget b-pipe

Manny - Agreed. I'll have to wait for Spring for the dyno and 1320 run.

92 SE-R - It does sound great. IMO, it sounds like 10hp..just kidding

nismotech - Did you do it yourself? If so, how did you get the bolts off the cat?
