Map light, ignition ring light. . .

I remember that there was a Polarg bulb for the map light in the Max, but I don't remember the part number. I looked around and none of the polarg bulbs look identical to the one I have for the map light. Can somebody please tell me the bulb number and if it produces bright, white light? Is there a better bulb for this?

Also, I tried painting the LED-looking wedge bulb in the ignition ring with a blue sharpie, but it didn't turn out too pretty. Anyone have a link to where I can buy these? I remember seeing them somewhere but can't find em anymore. Thanks

resurrecting this from the dead: which map light from polarg (or any other company) replaces the stock 5th gen map light.

except when it comes to shipping. Most people charge $5+ shipping for stinkin tiny bulbs. I've seen up to $8.99 for pair of wedge bulbs. So

first, take apart the steering column covers (there are 5 screws to unscrew on the underside of the bottom cover). Then gently pull off the ignition ring assembly. You'll see a longish plastic piece which holds the light bulb. This can be removed from the ring by gently twisting counterclockwise. Then pull the old bulb out of the plastic socket.

Thanks to everyone for the model numbers and links

One more thing: the ignition ring bulb comes in 2 varieties in the second website (http://autolumination.com/74.htm). It comes in LED and incandescent. I know that the Max comes with an incandescent bulb, but can I put an LED bulb in there? Will it be brighter?

Did the focus bulb work? I got the other one...I'm putting it in over lunch today. I'm just happy to get rid of the green. So uncool.

Pretty easy to put in...took about 10mins literally. I did break some plastic thing while trying to get at the bulb, but no big deal. Everything is solid again. The inc. bulb isn't very bright, but it is blue...and should look cool at night at least. Who needs it in the daytime anyhow.

Please post night shots of each individual bulb so we can get a better
perspective of the illumination. Thanks in advance.

i finally ordered my bulbs. I got a blue one and a super white one. The super white one is brighter but doesn't look that great. The blue one looks really hot especially at night, but isnt that bright. These are incandescent by the way. Pictures to come as soon as I borrow my girl's camera...

Check your connections or test the bulb as it may be burned out.

I have the focus and it looks good (not great). It is nice and red but does not light up the entire ring bright. The far side is a little dim.
