don't buy tint from autozone..
for one, good brand is Llumar.. but look for a high quality tinting place in your area.. (go to the regional forum and ask around)
and if i were in Florida.. I'd probably go with 10% or so.. you guys get a lot of sun..
I have 15% in NY and I love it.
35% is really pointless, it does add something but not enough..
i'd like 35% on something really classy maybe a Mercedes.. so i can be seen driving it

Congrats on the new max. I've got 13% all around, I think that they are perfect and the cops haven't bothered me at all.
I'm in Miami also, I know a good tint place in Coral Gables
If you want to check mine out or more info PM me.

20% Llumar tint all the way. I had 35% LLumar Titanium on my old car.. .hardly looked like it was tinted... 20 makes the most drastic difference and looks great on the max

Question here,
Its my first day of driving with tint and I noticed that rear defroster stripes are now much more distinguishly visible at night, and when I look at the headlights of a car behind me, its like the light is spread (reflected) out vertically thru out my rear window. Its as if you are looking through the cage, the defroster lines stand out now. Anyone have the same situation, or maybe its normal and I should get used to it??
Thanks.

Im not sure if reflective is legal or not here in cali. I know any tint on driver or passenger side front windows is illegal here. You can do as you please with rears. From what Ive heard cops say, as long as they can see in some way, who is driving, you will rarely get screwed with. At night, my Navigation screen provides light inside, which allows anyone to kind of see who is inside. If I could I would have gone all 5%, but I dont feel like getting pulled over at the "wrong" time, and get screwed , because of stupid tint

Solar Gard replaced Llumar at some shops around here. That's what i have on my car, 13% charcoal tint. Don't go light, it'll look like crap and you'll be ****ed. After i showed my Civic buddy my 13% he paid to get his tints taken off and is getting 13% too.

not so...in South Florida, the COPS have 20% full reflective on all windows with little cutouts for their strobe lights-I think even windshield from what I've seen....
but then again with temps always basically at 70 degrees and up, you would need it to save yourself, your dash and your seats from damage....

To those who remember when they first installed their tint. How often did the bubbles pop up, large or small? A couple of small bubbles and one decently moderate 2 by 1 inch bubble popped up just right below the matrix which is also the radio antenna. When I brought my car back to the tint shop they just straightened it out, told me that I should let it heal. But how can I be sure they they wont appear again just like that? I have lifetime warranty so I am not that worried if anything serious happens, but its really dissapointing to see the bubbles the first day.
Anyone had the same experience?
Thanks

Explain the difference. Mirrors are reflective aren't they?[/QUOTE]
you need to see one in person to comment....they reflect when natural light hits the glass....at night or when light comes in the cabin it appears smoke....

Here's mine with Llumar Titanium tint.
Rear window: 6% limo
Sides: 26%
Windshield: 52% (just regular charcoal)
I'm pretty happy with it. Sometimes I wish I had gone a little darker, but I havent been hassled for it by the cops yet, and if I had gone darker I probably would have gotten a ticket for it by now.
