2k Brake Judder problem

I had a 2k maxima gxe with the bad brake judder problem, which was fixed during the warranty period. THe dealer charged me about $700 for the repair to resurface them. I did not know about the TSB for it at that time, which claims that this repair was under warranty. Is there anyway i can be recompensated for this?

your best bet would be to contact to nissan directly @ 800-NISSAN1. 700 just to resurface rotors is absolutely insane. i hope that included pads and maybe some other maintenance. remember, the warranty on the tsb is 3yr/36k.

Yes, please check your billing receipt............$700? I almost fell off my chair reading that price. If the price is correct then did they do any other work to the car aside from running the rotors on the on-the-car lathe?? If not you have been more than raped..........

Here is the TSB for the judder: NTB00-088

Update

I'm sorry, I didnt actually have the reciept with me at the time i made teh post. The cost was $700 but that included $400 30,000 mile service. So the brake job actually cost around $300. They claim they "replaced worn out rear brake pads and machined rotors". This problem has come back even after they said they fixed it

You should be able to get reimbursed for turning the rotors. However, as you've discovered, turning them is only a temporary fix and they'll end up warping again eventually. You can get them turned once more as long as they're in spec but you're probably better off replacing them. Use the money you get back towards new ones.

Im not sure which ones are causing the judder. Is there anyway to tell if it is the front or rear brakes? If i do end up replacing them, do the oem replacements still have this problem. You'd think they would have realized their rotors are faulty and i'd assume they've fixed the problem with the oem replacements. Or would i just be better off getting aftermarket ones like the powerslots?

the brake bias in our cars has to be somewhere around 80% front and 20% rear. with that in mind, it would have to be the front causing the juddering from warped rotors. i had the problem @9k miles when nissan resurface the rotors and replaced the front pads. then @ 28 the problem reoccured and they replaced the rotors but kept the pads. i just recently replaced had my pads replaced with bendix IQ pads and if the rotors warp again, i am just going with brembo blanks.

Like sloppymax says, it's almost always the front rotors. The exception is when you have a dragging parking brake. But if you feel the pulsing in the steering wheel that's a sure sign it's the front rotors.

This is total bs. i just got off the phone from the nissan usa and i send them the reciept. They say it was too long ago, and it wasnt indicated on the reciept that it was SPECIFICALLY "brake judder", and said it was normal wear and tear.

Is there anything i can do to get my money back. $300 for a freaking brake repair is a ripoff still, and id like to get it back
