Finally finished my white grills... take a look

I did the upper grill in December, and didnt get to the lower one. Finally I did paint the lower one as well, so here is the final product. My digital camera ran out of room tho after takin 4 pics, but you can basically see what it looks like. Here goes:

And the finished product

Thanks! The whites actually dont match perfectly, you notice it up close. I thought it would dry a lil different color, but I was wrong. Need to get a more "pearl" white, but from a few feet away it looks fine.

I can see there is a little difference in paint but you know for doing it yourself it really looks good. White is by far the hardest color to match.

nice job - tweak the color of the white a little and it will look perfect! Nice look, though! Looks like it was made that way...

Looks good Derek. It's got a nice uniformity to it.

Did you have to remove the upper grille and paint on a stand? Im thinking it would be too much of a pain trying to paint it on the car, especially w/taping and getting paint in in the nooks and crannies. Is it a glossy white, or flat? Does the grille still feel smooth to the touch, or did the dry paint change the surface consistency?

Way to go, nice to have the little projects to get you through the non-race track months. Now, with your new fogs, and the painted upper/lower grille, can't be mistaken for a token stock Maxima.

I got a question for you guys:

What do you think of just painting the thick horizontal bars of the grill? You know, the silver pieces? I'm thinking about doing that but I've noticed that every painted grill has EVERYTHING painted.

personally, I think that would look the best..

Derek's looks damn good -way better than stock, but what you suggest would be better than what he did (IMO)

i think it would look more detailed...errrr polished.

I think it looked better stock.
I think a black grill would look better on a white car. The rest of the car would look better.

Thanks for the input. I like it how it is, but of course I'm never satisfied. I've thought of doin it black too, that'd probly look nice too. For the moment, I like how its all white tho, and after I do another coat in a slightly better match to my paint, it should look perfect IMO. But good to get feedback!

the more i look at it, the more i notice other changes...

you got clear corner markers... I think i like the amber corner markers with the dark gray grill much better than the white grill and clear corners...

the amber and gray help break up the massive amount of white on the car.

Really? I dunno, I like the all white look. Ha guess you wouldnt like my plan to clear out the headlights too then eh? Well thats aight, IMO it looks very clean, but I'll probly experiment with black this summer when I find I have a day free.

it looks good, was the paint a factory color or you had to go to get a close match?

I like the contrasting grill better. I think mabey just painting the thick bars would have been a better look, Your car still looks great.

I got a close (not close enough tho) match to the factory paint.

I thought of just painting the thick bars, but I wasnt sure I could tape off everything well enough to avoid getting paint where I didnt want it. I agree tho, it would look cool
