Clearing out sidemarker lights
Clearing out sidemarker lights
This has probably been beaten to death, but...
1. I'm a n00b
2. The links in the FAQ aren't working
3. No search feature
Here's the question:
Isn't there a ghetto mod way of clearing out the orange and red sidemarkers without buying new? If so, what is it? What are the advantages/disadvantages of this compared to buying new? Thanks for your help.

Downside...you mess up...well...you are buyin new "something" whether being clear or factory. You wont have that "dome" of the colored lense...it wil be flat (if thats really a concern)
Upside Its only your time and patience to do it. Kev was the only one that I rember doing it.

its the same thing if you ask "Hey why can't I put in 87 octane in here?"
if you can afford the top of the line Nissan car, spend the $$$$ for the mods

I wouldn't do the rears because it won't line up with the molding... the clear lense is flat unlike the orange lense. I used a screw driver and hit the crap out of the orange lense and cracked it open. I would also paint the housing black instead of leaving it orange. Also, if you want the lights to look nice, use the PIAA Extreme whites or just don't put bulbs in them at all.

ok so you are willing to dremel the **** outta stock corners to inevitably either mess them up to the point of HAVING to spend the $20 in the long run OR situation B-you waste the time to dremel them, which coulda been spent more constructively or you coulda gotten paid work time for those hours.
its all bout opportunity costs....to me $20 is pocket change from all the $$$ i spent on my 2k3 homie
