hey i dont know if you guys have seen it but i have seen pics of the "maxima" emblem on the dashboard, in front of the passanger. i shaved the one off mine and want to put it on but its scratched im thinking of getting engine paint in chrome and painting it about 5 coats and than crazy gluing it on anyone have any comments or think im doing it wrong or have done it to urs please lemme know what to do. thanx.

i have done it, dont use crazy glue!! use 3m double sided tape. i still have it on, i like the way it looks

 

i wouldn't use crazy glue. Maybe some 3M double sided tape so you can remove it in the future without any scaring

 

did you use the maxima that was all one piece or the one that is seperate letters?

Crazy glue will melt the plastic... I took my SE off and decided to rice my computer with those letters via some super glue. Now it looks like shyt! don't do it! go 3M!

 

how about the spraying it with engine paint chrome? mine has some scratches thats why im gonna spray paint it. do you think the paint will come off in the future?
and how do i put on the tape like wont some of it be showing? if you have a pic n maybe some like instructions i would greatly appreciate it cause when i went to shave my emblems i held the blow dryer a bit too long n da paint melted some what u cant really notice but still i dont want to screw up the inside of my car thanx for everything guys i appreciate it.

 

pearl white max how did u get ur headlights to glow blue like that? r those the headlight bulbs or something else.

 

yeah those are the bulbs. but when u put the tape on just take a blade, or an exacto knife works best, and cut or the excess tape around the edges. about the painting it part im not too sure, but i think it would be fine

I did mine with some 3m tape and I ended up taking it off but it left a mark so I ended up replacing it. Now im pretty satisfied.

I just ordered one from the dealer for about 20 - 25 bucks and it has no flaws and already has sticky on it. Might be able to do better from Dave B. I also did the 20th Anniversary - just like on the trunk. Looks pretty good if I do say so myself.

 

umm i just shaved it off the trunk and used silicone to stick it to the dashboard, i really didnt like the way it looks, so i took it off....

unless your g/f is hanging her heels on it while you're... 'driving'... 3M double-sided tape will last until you want it to come off.

 

yeah 3m tape will deff hold it on there

 

i bought the chrome spray paint and ima get the tape tomorrow buit first i need to get goo gone to take off all the crap in back of the emblem

Spraypaint your entire steering wheel too. Bling bling.

 

if u want, you can buy a bran new emblem from custommaxima.com for like 15 bucks i think. that way you won't have to mess with spray paint or worry about scratches.

would i be able to paint the dash peices like instead of buying a $120 kit?

 

That lettering makes the interior look like a GM product.

im all done i had to use some paint thinner to take off some paint cause i sprayed da back n da tape wouldnt stick to it n it messed up the front so i had to do like 200 more coats ima put it on hopefully today nborrow a friends cam to take a pic u guys will be the first to see

i tired like a whole mess it wont work i put it just str8 on da dash like just the tape no emblem and it wouldnt stick
i just cleaned my car though n i used armor all although it is dry would dat have something to do wit it.

 

yes it does Try cleaning that area with glass cleaner or even a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a paper towel. This will remove all the armor all you just put on it.

 

i cleaned it like u said and the tape will stick now but i have no clue how to get the tape on the emblem so you cant see peices of it off the side i tried using n exacto knife but when i leift it up the tape sticks to w.e im cutting it on?
would it be good to use spray adhesive?

you could but i wouldn't again too permanent. Maybe if you just cut small strips of the tape and then attach it to the emblem so you can't see them from the front
