What color is my Maxima

hey guys, I'm new on this forum and new to the Nissan scene. I just picked up my '03 last monday. I'm loving the car even more every single time i drive it. But what I'd like to know is what is the official color names for the 5th gen maxima's. I looked up the Infiniti website and the color that came close to it was Desert Platinum, is that correct? please help!

im thinking the color you are looking for is called Sunlit Sand... but wait for more people to post what they think.

im sorry guys, but my digital camera isnt working otherwise there would be some pictures posted.. if you guys can help me out and post some pictures of colors that you might think it could be i can reply back... thank you so much for your help

Look inside the door. If you see a paint code of EV0 then it's Sunlit Sand.

Do you have the titanium package? I think the color was called Desert Platinum...its that shiny gray/steel color, right?

Just did some more research.. if u have the titanium package, its either "Polished Titanium" or "Sheer Silver"

If not, you've probably got "Sterling Mist" which looks silver, but not sand colored... or "Sunlit Sand" which looks more of a sand/gold color..

Hope that helps you out..

Here are the color codes if you're interested (found inside driver side door)
QX1 Glacier Pearl, Pearlcoat N/C
KV3 Gray Lustre, Metallic N/C
BW9 Majestic Blue, Pearlcoat N/C
AX5 Merlot, Pearlcoat N/C
WV2 Polished Titanium, Metallic N/C
KY1 Sheer Silver, Metallic N/C
KT3 Sterling Mist, Metallic N/C
EV0 Sunlit Sand, Metallic N/C
KH3 Super Black, Basic N/C

They didn't make the 2003 in anything called Desert Platinum...I'm thinking it has to either be Sterling Mist, Gray Lustre or Sunlit Sand.

Been a while since I traded my 2k...but IIRC they called that "Sherwood Green".

looking at Infiniti's "Desert Platinum", the closest 2003 maxima color would be "Sterling Mist"

Infiniti's "Diamond Graphite" would be comparable to Nissan's "Polished Titanium"
Infiniti's "Brilliant Silver" = Nissan's "Sheer Silver"
Infiniti's "Golden Sand" = Nissan's "Sunlit Sand"

im not saying these color's have the same paint codes. its just a reference for people to get an idea of the color names.

Hehe...what about color code KV3...which is apparently named "Greenish Gray Metallic Clearcoat" according to this site.

I guess mine is "Green Pearl" then...
It does have a slight pearl-ish look to it up close...

Well, maybe not, others have reported that it got their colors way wrong

when i bought my car (FROM A NISSAN DEALERSHIP) i asked the saleman the color and he said "brown". so i asked another guy and he said "silver"

thanks guys.. i really appreciate your help. The color is sterling mist. I took my vin number and got the exact name from the factory. thanks for all the help.

That site sucks. My Polished Titanium is code WV2 and it says it for desert polatinum and the Greenish gray was wrong.
