Loud heater fan

Yep. Mine has gotten louder as the car packs on more miles, and she's at almost 85K. Can't really hear it from inside the cabin, but from the outside it's a bit annoying. I wonder if using WD-40 or something of the like would help. Hmmm...
Peace.

same here.. mine also clicks on the inside when it's cold. i assume it's the blower, but it goes away fairly quickly.
outside though it's bad. had to be somewhere this morning and parked the car and left it running. i swear everyone asked me whose car was on. sigh.
drive it till it breaks then replace it. noise is not near as bad as the bill you are gonna get to fix it.

Here is what makes them not so loud... There is a plastic cap over the blower motor with some sound-def inside of it; but if you looked at the cap of 02/03 you would see that it is smaller/ covers less area then the one on 00/01... so i used that. I did the same to my integra's blower too; did not have any of that at all. So, try bigger motor cover!

The heater fan is a brush based fan assembly. When you hear noises that means the fan is on the way out. Going to get worse then quit on you. Mine did and it's a known issue...at least according to DaveB.
Replacing the fan is also very easy. There are a couple screw to get the glove box door off. Then the fan is held in place by 3 screw and on quick disconnect. Problem solved for around $50 bucks and 30 minutes of your time.

My cousin has a 2k1 and his heater is very very loud (sounds like an airplane taking off) and its not giving out much heat. I'm hoping this is the solution.
