Installing the Accelerator Pedal

I have the Anniversary edition Accelerator pedal and i would like a second opinion on how to install it. I have a 2001 SE. Thanks for your time

Its fairly easy. Just need to remove the accelator cable with the clip and then remove the bolts attaching the pedal, change it up and put it back.

I did this Wednesday night with my 01 SE. The hardest part is getting the little white bushing think out of the old pedal assembly. I just got a long screwdriver and pried it out. If you will loosen the 2 bolts that hold the assembly to the firewall then you can pull down on the whole thing and take the slack out of the cable.

Look in the 'Installation Instructions /How-To's For...' section. One of the members did a write-up on installing the manual transmission pedals and I posted my write-up on installing the automatic transmission pedals. It's actually very easy (you don't even have to remove the original pedal assembly - just have two strips of electrical tape ready), and the results are great.

for an '02 you have to remove the whole accelerator arm and wrap the bar that fits in to the pedal with electrical tape for about 4 or 5 turns. other than that its the same
