Door got Dinged! Dang Nabit... (Pics Inside)

Just picked up my 02' last week tuesday and some idiot hit my p/s frt door. It happened in my parking lot complex, I wish I had a private garage.... Anyway, take a look at the pictures, do you think I can just purchase the molding from here NewNissanParts,(it's $60 pre-painted), and try Paintless Dent Repair, or do I have to get a new door. Let me know what you guys think.

Man this sucks...

Dayum! That is not a ding, that's a big dent. I don't know if paintless folks can fix something that big. You will have to check with them.

Dam that sucks. That's a hit and run in my book.

Maybe you'll be able to tell who did it if they happen to live there.

It looks to me like you'll need a new door but I'm no body repair man.

looks like it will pop out, but if it does, you might have to repaint it, based on whether the paint cracks up or falls off from all the twisting. sucks.

i have two spaces where i live. i park in both of them to keep a good distance if fat joe kicks his door open. so far so good

Tomorrow i am going to canvas the area, but since there's no note, I'm guessing who ever did it, will not fess up to it. I will be checking bumpers and doors, but there may be no damage to their car, sometimes it happens that way...

I still love this car - picked it up last week w/10,000 miles loaded meridan & leather 6speed man, everything except navi for $17.9. New cars always attract damage though, oh well, wish me luck.

He paid 350 to have it fixed. We got the car on the same month, and this happened to him on the second month...!!! haha sucks i tell you

Hi I'm a new member. I had similar ding on my MX6. A company called
"Dentpro" popped it right out. It was amazing to watch the guy work. I think I spent about $300.00. Check their web site dentpro.com. I think they will come to your home or work and give you a free estimate. Good luck.

Just got 2 estimates, $991.00 from independent b/s and $1170 from nissan dealer.

Nissan says they have to paint both the fender and the door for the paint to "blend" properly, does anyone know if this is true...

The paintless dent removal guy says he can make it look 95-99% they way it looked originally for $200 bucks, but I really want it to be perfect, I mean I only had it for 4 DAYS!!!

Anyone know of a good b/s in NYC that does really good work for reasonable prices, or is this the best price I'm gonna get...

I'd go with dentpro or other paintless method. Painting options are going to pop out as much as they can, then mud the thing up with bondo which will look just as wavy as the paintless removal IMHO. Then they'll need to blend the paint like they said. Silver is an absolute f$%King nightmare to match and you can see it from a mile away. I'd take my chances on the paintless removal over risking a bad bondo job and mis-matched paint.

oh, and get used to less-than-perfect and learn not to sweat that. It's a fact of life that a daily driven car is going to suffer paint chips and dings.
