Please excuse the off topic post here just wanted to let everyone know that I am hanging it up. I know some of you don't care to have these kinds of post pluggin up the forum so on that note Ta Ta ladies and gents

P.S. I have the last of my Maxima parts listed here:

Traitor!! Haha j/k, looks like you are going for a jump in performance rather than comfort. I say good choice, especially for 20k.

Yeah I know. This is where my true love is. Turbo Dodges. I will miss the max though. And the viper seats will take some getting used to.

Test drove a 03 SRT-4, nice power and handling. Liked the 70K warr. As far as depreciation, its good you got the SRT-4 caus normal Neon's blow, the 4 should hold its value better since its a turbo. Down the road i want to get one for around 6-9K and keep it as a road warrior when i got the need for speed!!! Good luck!

Viper inspired seats.

Viper inspired seats

SRT-4's Viper-style seats with aggressive upper and lower thigh bolsters help hold driver and front passenger in place during aggressive maneuvers. Aggressive maneuvers? Trust us, this will come in handy.
Not Viper seats.

I've heard that the interiors are really stripped in the SRT-4....guess that's the price you pay for running with Evolutions for 10 grand less.

Yeah my Shadow that I just built up this past winter / spring rocks. 24 pounds of boost has you giggly like a school girl

My buddies Omni ran a best of 12.7 this last year. I really do love these cars.

I don't think so. Nothing spectacular but nice sport seats in the front and besides that its a Neon interior. Except for the Autometer boost gauge

congrats on the purchase. Different in comfort compared to the max, but I don't think your buying it for that anyways.

Thanks ! Yeah comfort is nice to have and that is a big item I will miss with the max. Hopefully I won't regret this. The other big item that will be missed is the HID's. It’s back to stocker headlights. I will have to look into that.

But yes the big push on the car is the performance bump. This is my background in cars so I feel very comfortable with it.

I am going to stick around the list and hang out. This has been one of the most diverse lists that I have run across. For the most part everyone has been really cool and friendly.

So I will continue to dip in and see what's going on.

best wishes, that neon is a fast car.

its very hard to imagine someone purchasing a Maxima and then getting a SRT-4...

in my very humble opinion going from a max to STI or GTO or even an EVO makes more sense... but i guess if all one wants is a cheap non-classy and uncomfortable but fast boy racer car - purchasing the max was probably a mistake in the first place.

depreciation will own you as soon as you pull it off the lot.... good luck tho!
since its a SRT-4 it might not be as bad as the regular Neons.

I miss my 1989 Plymouth Colt GT Turbo ALOT but, I wouldnt dump my Maxima for it. If i could locate another one, I'd get it in addition to my Max.

Good luck with your new rocket!!

And the depreciation of the Max is any different. 2002 and 2003 were used as rental cars that doesn't do a whole lot for the car. In this area the SRT-4 neons have a dealer mark up. Depreciation won't be that of a standard neon. I don't think that the depreciation of will be any worse than any other car. I have seen used ones at the dealer marked up selling for more than new.

But that part doesn't bother me as I have a habbit of getting rid of cars with in a couple years. I haven't had one car much longer than 2 years anyway.

This one will be in for the long haul as they are already talking about stopping production or completely redesigning the car.

I think it will hold its value just fine.

To each there own. Everyone has their own opinion. The thing for me is the background that I have in these cars. My shadow is producing 400+WHP. No track times yet but that will come this summer.

Nuts for Nuts I have seen the SRT-4 with just exhaust hand the STI its a$$ at the track. I have a video to prove it so if you want I can email it. So paying 30K for an over priced car isn't my thing. Reading this again it also sounds kinda blunt. It's not meant to be just my opinions.

Yeah well the Maxima was dumping on me with problems. Not to say that I won't have problems with the SRT-4 problems exist with all makes and models. I was just tired of dealing with them on the Max.

Some may look at it as a downgrade but I don't.

Say no more; point well taken. I'm just surprised @ the direction of the SRT4; IMO, its not a migration that I would have expected from a 5G Max owner (i.e.: TL, G35, 3/5 Series, etc,...)

...no need to justify your decision with us. I just hope I dont lineup with you at a stoplight

Your trading alot of comfort for a little more performance but I can understand the performance potential of the SRT-4 and why you're going for it and that's cool as far as I'm concerned. 5 years ago, I might have been able to put up with a loud Neon with killer performance. At my age and the amount of driving I do, I need the comfort as well the performance. I would love to have an SRT-4 for short abuse cruises, though!

I wouldnt mind ther SRT-4 but Im afraid it will fall apart as i drive.

I had 4 nissans with over 110K and counting with 0 problems.

So I dont know if i would be able to make that choice.

good luck anyway.

400WHP Shadow ?? I wanna know what its got in it... I personally use my Maxima as just a pretty fast daily driver, yet to loose to a Neon SRT4 on the highway or a stock EVO. But if ya wanna race turbo cars- I have a G20 w/SR20DET and had a SE-R w/SR20DET... one of em pushed out 547WHP on C16... shoulda gotten a SE-R :P Good luck on keeping the head on the block, as 2.0L Neons blew head gaskets like Maximas MAFs, the 2.4L Pt Cruisers have been the same way FYI. I work as a mechanic at a dealership, so I just about know about all kinds of cars out there from other mechanics that work at other dealers. But hey, good luck

yeah, everyone knows that the max is the greatest car ever, and you are an idiot if you go from a max to anything else.

Lebaron is the total granny car sleeper. I have a mint 85 Lebaron K-Car that I am working on now. Gonna use it as put put around town kinda car. Yeah Yeah I know K-Car's no one wants them no one likes them. But I know 2 K-Cars of Doom. One runs 12's and the other 10's

Gotta love the sleeper effect
