S 2000

Be weary of S2000's, they can haul ***. I've had pleasure of driving my boss' S2000 many times. It's an incredible machine with crisp and tight gears, but if anyone driving one wants to beat u in a 5speed Max he has to take it to the 9k RPM redline and know how to drive the car.
Have fun proving that there are too many weak @$$ drivers on the road!

You might actually be able to take one off the line. Everything I've read says that due to the high powerband, they are very hard to launch well. They have no torque down low. But as soon as he gets rolling...you're dead.

They dyno with almost the same amount of HP as we do

but they are a whole lot lighter making them quick, also from what I have heard the handling on them is great. But nice try.

sounds like a stupid driver, those brakes don't fade too easily not like ours at least. By the way I love the Cross Island around there. I hit 135mph right b4 Throgs in my last car starting from the Whitestone Exp. dipping turn.

hehe...i was really 'Haulin'!!
it wasn't like both of us were not trying!
we were tearing up the quiet streets of Irvine at 1:30 in the morning!! only two cars and it was a drag race...when the S2000 was making a pass on me, i heard that 'BBHHHHAAAAAAAAA~~~`'....his VTEC was working like hell!! i'm like 'oh, shiet!'
but it was fun...i know those things have almost zero bottom end and that's why i was faster off the line...but heck...they do have those pesky VTECs...

and uh, dennis..no, it wasn't a yellow one. it was a black one.

actually, even though he passed me, he was still right in front of me...
either he doesn't know how to drive or it's just a close match-up.
i ought to drive one of those S2000 to find out for sure.

how is making someone crash somehow cool? and why would you try to match someone speed because they are trying to pass? Maybe, just maybe he was in a hurry... I guess its fun til you get manslaughter charges brought on you. any witness would call that 'racing'.

Failed. 2nd Time he tried he had a good opening, and since the guy in front of me left, I just gunned it, and yeah if the road was open, he had me for lunch, but a 65mph car and going almost 100mph, and he didn't have the gap to pass me, so get behind me. 3rd time we're passing Bell blvd exit, and he goes for it, as traffic has opened up, and we gun it, but he missed a shift, and he stays on my door, but quickly regains up to the fender, I notice a car coming on from Throgs Neck, and I look ahead and keep my foot planted, no way was I gonna just let him pass after the crap he put me thru. He went for it, and just I can see the Marina, I see him brake hard, and downshift, heard the tell-tale fuelcutoff wah wah wah, them booom and in my side view see him hit the car on his left side impacting the S2000 on the right side. In the rearview I see the S2000 with steam gushing out and plastic falling from the car pull over just before the apartments that are by the CIP, after Bell Blvd Entrance. I get off on Northern and get home safe, and think about how bad he must feel to have been denied by a Family Sedan.

-Sweet, huh ?
No, that's not "sweet". that's RUDE, DANGEROUS, ILLEGAL, and EXTREMELY STUPID!
He could have taken you and him both out, not to mention half a dozen other cars. What if YOU had been the loser in this situation? totally different story, eh?

Please drive with your brain next time, not your attitude.

DUDE

accidents are NOT cool. They are dangerous as well as costly. If you had let him in, you would have gained more respect than the damn race was worth. Cars are expensive machines, they are not toys that you can replace by going to toys r us. If you cannot learn to respect them, then you do not deserve to use one...

Um, i don't think so man. My friend's father has a S2000 and it is an extremly difficult car to launch, but once it gets going it doesn't let up. Since the maxima does have great low end power, i guess it could be possible if this guy did not know how to drive his car.

Matt93GXE, If you lived in NYC, and see the way some of these guys drive, you'd have said "sweet" and understand
what this guy deserved. I drove with my brain, it wasn't my fault he didn't know the full capabilities of his car and I
did. If he was a car length ahead of me, I'd let go, but the way he kept "pushing all the wrong buttons." He was
asking for it. I've been on the losing end of a "dip" like that, and believe me, I'm glad I don't have my 4th gen
anymore, the way I got into severe accidents with this car, and minor ones in my 5th Gen, says, I'm using my head
instead of my attitude. Besides that if I had used my attitude I would've lost, but timing is crucial with changing
battlefield known as the street, you adapt at every second to Maximize your likely to Win.

Rba, It was too crazy for me, but a lesson taught now will save him later.

-Peace

WTF? It doesn't matter where you live or what car you drive. Road manners, patience, and a brain are required everywhere. patience in big cities is even more important..
SO WHAT if he was flashing and honking at you! pull the f*** over and let the a$$hole by, then be on your merry way. is it THAT important to be the first one to get stuck at the next stoplight? you're not gonna get there more than 5 seconds faster had you let him by. Did he really **** you off that much that you have to look like an *** in front of how many people you'll never ever see again?

Using your head is knowing when to get out of the way and let people like that pass by. It's NOT thinking it's the right thing to do to antagonize them and try to p!ss them off even more until they cause a wreck.

Just wait till you get shot for cutting off the wrong guy in traffic. Big City problems indeed. I've had 3 friends in the last few years shot in cold blood for doing stuff like what you did. where you live just makes that situation even easier to see.
