O2 sensors going out too soon???

Anyone having problems with the O2 sensors, I have a 2002 Max auto and am told that my two rear O2 sensors need replacing. Seems that a car with only 55K miles should not need O2 sensors! I had the light turned (SES) off a few days ago, but coming home on the 8 I was in 3 and doing about 90mph and that light came on again. This sucks!
